According to recent patents filed by Honda in Japan, the future of the iconic Honda Africa Twin could hold some cutting-edge innovations in terms of safety and performance.
One such potential innovation would be the introduction of a front camera. If adopted, this technology would allow for road monitoring and emergency braking anticipation, adding a new dimension to the riding experience of the future 2024 Africa Twin. Moreover, this camera could also play a crucial role in blind-spot monitoring.
Another possible evolution revealed by the patents is the integration of an adaptive cruise control. This system, already present in the automotive industry, would adjust the bike's speed according to the preceding vehicle, making long rides even more enjoyable.
In terms of performance, Honda also filed a patent for a supercharged engine, which could be turbo or compressor type. This technology would allow for a reduction in the displacement of the future Africa Twin, for a significant weight gain without compromising power.
While there is no guarantee that these innovations will be seen on a 2024 model, they show that Honda is envisaging a promising future for the Africa Twin. Stay tuned for more updates on this iconic bike!
